Cost guide · Garfield, New Jersey

Starlight headliner installation cost

A starlight ceiling is priced by labour, not parts. Two cars can carry the same light engine and differ wildly in cost because one has 300 fibers in a coupe roof and the other has 900 fibers threaded around a panoramic sunroof in Alcantara. Below is exactly what moves the number, and what the install looks like at Mansor Customs.

Every ceiling is quoted on the car — send your model, roof type and the density you want.

What you're paying for

Six things that move the price

Ask any shop for a flat price and you will get a guess. These are the variables a real quote is built from.

Fiber count

A subtle 200–400 fiber layout reads like a night sky at a distance. Dense 800+ fiber ceilings with graduated brightness take far longer to drill, thread and trim, and that labour is the single biggest driver of price.

Roof size and shape

A coupe headliner is a fraction of the surface of an SUV or long-wheelbase sedan. Curved roof panels and rear-seat entertainment cutouts add pattern work.

Sunroof or panoramic glass

Glass roofs reduce the usable fabric area and force the pattern around the frame, which means more custom layout time and less symmetry to fall back on.

Shooting stars and effects

Meteor / shooting-star channels, twinkle modules, colour-changing engines and app or steering-wheel control each add hardware and wiring time.

Headliner material

Reusing the factory headliner costs less than a re-wrap. Alcantara, suede or perforated leather with contrast stitching adds material and upholstery labour.

Trim removal complexity

Exotics and luxury flagships need pillar trim, airbags, grab handles and sensors removed and reset properly. That care is why the finished ceiling has no ripples, gaps or loose fibers.

The install

How the job actually runs

The headliner leaves the car. That single decision is the difference between a ceiling that looks factory and one that ripples.

  1. 01

    Consultation and layout

We agree on density, pattern, colour temperature and whether you want shooting stars, then map the layout to your exact roof panel.

  2. 02

    Headliner removal

The headliner comes out of the car so every fiber is drilled and secured off the vehicle — never poked through a ceiling still bolted in place.

  3. 03

    Drilling and threading

Each fiber is drilled, threaded, glued and pulled to tension. This is the long, quiet part of the job and where density decides the hours.

  4. 04

    Engine, wiring and control

The light engine is mounted out of sight, wired to a clean power source and paired to your remote, app or switch.

  5. 05

    Trimming and reinstall

Fibers are cut flush so nothing is visible with the lights off, the headliner goes back in, and every trim piece and sensor is reset and tested.
